The view from my little apartment balcony is familiar, or at least so I thought. I had seen the trees in all seasons. I know which ones have dead branches and how they move with the wind. There are several types of trees, and I can name some of them. But when I focus the binocular on one tree, the adjacent is out of focus. After several areas of the tree line are observed, I set the binocular down. I continue to look but relax my eyes to take in the whole scene at once, then parts of the scene. My perspective is extended.
The second image shows a large part of the same tree line, but lines are added to illustrate the depth of the scene that is not apparent without careful observation. There are literally more than 9 layers of trees. Extended further, there is a field peeking through some of the tree gaps. The sky brings color perspective. The birds (hawks, sparrows, mocking birds, crows, robins, cardinals and a few others) bring more definition to the scene. They all eat in the foreground, fly among the trees, and have nests. Small animals run through the area. There is moisture and atmosphere that make all the life possible. I am part of the scene – watching.
And it all came about by itself? The magnificent picture I see from my little balcony perch, which is a microcosm of what is on the earth, simply appeared? Whose perspective is that? Man’s idea of evolution and origins does not work, but it is now taught and studied as fact or truth in most institutions. Why not examine the subject, because something else is going on?
Extend your perspective. Life does not happen on its own. Complex information within “kinds” of different things does not show up naturally. Adding billions of years for the self-directed process, which is utterly undefined, is not any help. Rather, science records that the grand engineering is awe inspiring.
It cannot self-develop. The Bible perspective, instead of man’s perspective, is immensely larger, deeper, layered with detail, and precisely accurate as presented in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. Here is a sample of statements from that biblical perspective from two other books:
Colossians 5:16-17 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (ESV)
God’s statement in Isaiah 45:12: I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host. (ESV)
Widen your perspective. God did it, sustains it, and did it with His command. Things went wrong, of course, and are wrong in the world, but not because of His creative abilities. It is because of the results of man figuring he has a better way and answer. Meanwhile, God lays out a plan to redeem us from our situation and give us both identity and purpose.
